Social Engagement, Community Education, Outreach, & Volunteer Opportunities

Programs and services that provide information and assistance with public transportation to volunteers who transport older adults, and a range of program and services designed to encourage disabled and older adults to be socially engaged, including a host of community-based volunteer opportunities through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). The AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program partners with the Office on Aging with a dual purpose: to engage Americans 55 years and older in volunteer services to meet critical community needs, and to provide a high quality experience for volunteers in the Coachella Valley and Blythe.

Volunteering is a good way to engage in your community and build new skills. In addition to volunteering with local community partners, the Office on Aging is involved in special events and one-time events that require volunteers as well. There is no long-time commitment and you decide when and what you want to volunteer for!
